Washer fluid is the friendliest fluid to learn on. It is easy to find, easy to top up, and it directly improves how well you can see the road.

What it does
It sprays onto your windshield to clear bugs, dust, and road spray, working with your wipers to keep your view clear.
Where to find it
A reservoir with a cap showing a windshield-and-spray symbol — usually blue, and often the easiest cap to reach. It is separate from the coolant reservoir, which uses a very different symbol.

Safe for a beginner?
Yes — this is the safest fluid to top up yourself. Just be sure you are pouring into the reservoir with the spray symbol, not the coolant one.
